Dental Fillings
Dental fillings are used to repair damage to the structure of a tooth or teeth. Tooth structure damage is a result of tooth decay, wear, or trauma. Once diseased tooth structure is removed, the tooth is restored with the highest quality of filling and crown materials, including bonded tooth-colored composites and porcelain.
Bonding
Many chipped or cracked teeth are typically repaired through the bonding process using an enamel-like composite material shaded precisely to the patient's existing tooth shade. The material is applied to the surface of a tooth, sculpted into shape, and contoured and polished, making the crack or chip invisible.
Crowns & Implants
Dental crowns are used to repair extensively decayed or damaged teeth. Dr. Garrison can restore teeth to their original and/or proper shape, shade, and function using any accepted crown material. He is experienced in the use of all-porcelain crowns that are very strong and also very esthetic. Dr. Garrison also restores missing teeth with crowns and bridges attached to dental implants. Dental implants are the most successful and least invasive way to restore one or more missing teeth to a tooth like chewing and esthetics.
Bridges, Dentures, & Partials
Dental bridges replace missing teeth with artificial replacements that are held in place by full coverage crowns on either side of a missing tooth. Dr. Garrison uses the most up-to-date materials to increase function for patient's missing teeth and spaces. Dr. Garrison is well-learned in the replacement of multiple spaces where implants and bridges are not possible with removable prosthetics, including dentures and partials. Implants are also used with some implant cases to increase retention of dentures.
Root Canals
Root canal therapy removes infected pulp tissue within the root chamber of the tooth. Dr. Garrison performs root canal therapy and uses rotary endodontics, reducing treatment time and increasing success rates and patient comfort.
Periodontal Scaling & Root Planing
The overgrowth of bacteria, as well as a high degree of inflammatory system response to periodontal bacteria, can cause bone loss. Over time this leads to loose teeth and tooth loss. Periodontal disease is closely tied to other more systemic issues and should be addressed. Dr. Garrison will perform a deep scaling root planing when periodontal status is found to be less than ideal, along with adjunct treatment as necessary to reduce periodontal pocketing and thus, reducing periodontal disease.
Night Guards & Sleep Apnea Devices
Our office sees a high rate of overfunction in the form of night clenching and/or grinding. We fabricate night time bruxism night guards to help keep tooth structure loss at a minimum due to this process as well as protect the jaw joint, muscles and overall dentition. Sleep dentistry is an up-and-coming area and Dr. Garrison is at the fore-front. Dr. Garrison can construct devices that are clinically shown to reduce or totally remove signs and symptoms of sleep apnea.
Teeth Whitening
Using a variety of procedures, we can help reduce discoloration of teeth. Different stages of discoloration require different procedures, and we rely on the most trusted and up-to-date methods to make your smile sparkle the way that you want it to.
